Text messages on Medifr are HIPAA-compliant. What does this mean?
We recognize that providers are busy and don’t have time to enter a code every time they receive a text message. So, we opted against encrypting text messages through Medifr. However, we do not pass identifiable patient information in the messages, making our text messaging HIPAA-compliant. We trust providers to protect their patients by ensuring the content of their messages does not violate HIPAA regulations.
